I fell in love with this summery look that Kourtney Kardashian wore this past week while grabbing frozen yogurt with her sister and her mom. It is very polished with the monochromatic blouse and shorts but the pop of color and trendy head wrap make this outfit stand out! It can easily be worn for a dressed up night out or a day out by the beach. Perfect for summer! How do you feel about this look? Would you rock it? Let me know in the comments below!

Beat The Heat: Maintaining an Oil Free Face

When the summer months roll around, cue the oily skin. The hot sun causes everyone to sweat a little more and makeup to slide. However, luckily, there are plenty of products out there that help alleviate this burden.
1. Primer
Primer is essential for keeping your makeup looking flawless all day long, regardless of the heat. Depending on your skin type, eyeshadow primer is negotiable. My favorite eyeshadow primers is the NARS eyeshadow base but I just ran out so I am back to using my trusty Urban Decay primer potion. In addition, I find using a primer on your face is essential. I love the Smashbox PhotoFinish light because it does not feel greasy on the skin and reduces shine. Primers are a must have for summer!

2. Foundation
During the summer, I like to wear an extremely lightweight foundation. Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation is just that. It has light coverage but better yet, it doesn't feel like you have anything on your skin. To accompany the foundation, I love the Nearly Naked powder in fair. It is finely milled and provides a little more coverage while helping mattify the face.

3. Cream Blush
Cream blush helps the skin look more natural. I love the appearance of a naturally flushed face and cream blush helps achieve that very look. The NYX cream blushes stay on the skin all day and are great for summer!

4. Lip balm
The trick to beating summer is moisturization! When many people have oily skin, they forget that their skin is actually dehydrated. Therefore, lotion and lip balm should be your best friend. This EOS lip balm reminds me of summer due to the fruity scent and bright orange color!

What I've Been Loving: May Favorites

Here are some of the beauty and makeup products that I fell in love with during the month of May!

1. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
After hearing rave reviews about this foundation, I decided to give it a whirl. I am in love with it. It claims to be a primer, concealer and foundation in one and it is just that. It has great, buildable coverage and long staying power on my combination/ oily skin. This is definitely going to be my foundation for the summer! I am in the shade 805, ivory.
2. Physicians Formula Conceal RX
This concealer is another amazing drugstore find. Typically, I stray away from Physicians Formula products due to their hefty price tag but this product is worth even double what I paid. This concealer is perfect for both under eye circles and to cover blemishes. It is one of the best concealers out there if you are looking for high coverage. I am in the shade fair light.
3. Covergirl Trio in Shimmering Sands
I have owned this trio for well over a year now but this past month, I have used it more than ever. It is perfect for a shimmery, neutral eye look. I often use the pale pink shade as a highlight and the middle taupe shade for all over the lid. This trio is a must have for all make up lovers.
4. Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara
I recycle through mascaras rather quickly but this one has stuck around for quite some time. Often times  I skip eyeshadow and eyeliner but mascara is always a must. It is a simple way to make my eyes pop. This mascara has just what I look for, volume. It makes my lashes look dark and luscious. I love it!
5. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blissful
I am a huge fan of Tarte's 12 hour blushes. They have tremendous staying power and great pigmentation. During the Spring and Summer months, I love having a peachy, coral flush on my cheeks. With this blush, a little goes a long way but regardless, it is the ideal blush for summer.
6. Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya
The Revlon Lip Butters are some of my favorite lip products in the market right now. They are moisturizing, have great color payoff and extremely affordable. After seeing a review of the lip butter in Juicy Papaya on Amarixe's blog, I knew I had to try it. This lip look screams "girl next door" and that is the exact look I typically am aiming for.
7. Philosophy Body Lotion in Holiday Hugs
I received this travel size lotion in a gift set for Christmas. I refrained from using it for a few months but broke it out at the end of April. I love Philosophy products. My skin soaks them up and they moisturize well. This sweet scent is absolutely divine. I would definitely love to try this out in the full size!
8. Redken Outshine 01: Anti-frizz polishing milk
Because I attend school down south, gross humidity was inescapable this past month. Unfortunately, my thick hair and humidity do not get along well. This caused an insane frizz fest. Luckily, I picked up this little beauty and my hair problems were solved. Just one pump of this serum causes my frizz to diminish!

Those are my favorites for the month! What are yours? Be sure to share in the comments below!

Weekly Roundup

In this weeks weekly roundup, I will be sharing all of the ins and outs of fashion, entertainment news and random bits and bops.

A New Fragrance by America's Sweetheart, Taylor Swift
As a fan of her sticky sweet fragrance, Wonderstruck, I am excited to see Taylor launch a new fragrance. She has moved on to another chapter of her life and thus, this fragrance is her worldwide debut as Taylor. Yes, just Taylor. It appears to be more sophisticated than her previous attempts and each purchase is accompanied by a strand of pearls. A classy fragrance from a classy gal!

Demi Lovato Graces the Cover of Nylon
Demi Lovato has it all: a hit album, a #1 single, a role on a judging panel alongside the powerful Mr. Simon Cowell, a strong army of fans but most of all, natural beauty. She is stunning in this NYLON editorial. Unlike the other plastic, photoshopped celebrities in Hollywood, Demi stripped it down and showed her true colors. What a beauty.

Yet Another Wardrobe Malfunction
The past few weeks have been full of "oops" moments. Both Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson faced embarrasing moments at the Cannes film festival when they shared a little too much with the world. This past week Stacy Keibler had an "oops" moment herself. Fortuntaly, she did not bear as much skin. Darn those cheeky zippers! It's okay Stacy, you are still a stunner and you have George. Not even a moment like this could take that away from you.

Miranda Lambert Leaves Us All in Tears
This week, country stud Blake Shelton hosted a one hour concert special in support of his home state of Okalama. This star studded event was full of emotional and sentimental moments, however, it was Miranda Lambert's heartbreaking performance of "The House that Built Me" that had the viewers in tears. In the middle of her song, Miranda was brought to tears and had the audience continue. It was heartbreaking but more than anything, extremely genuine. This is just another point in the book for Miranda.

NYX Cream Blush in Rose Petal: Review & Swatches!

As the summer months are quickly approaching, I am trying to lighten my everyday makeup look by looking more sun kissed and natural. In doing so, I have reverted back to using my beloved cream blushes! Recently, I picked up this little beauty, the NYX cream blush in Rose Petal.

NYX cream blushes are one of the best finds in the drugstore. They have high pigmentation, moderate lasting power and an affordable price. They are perfect for creating a natural look and are a must have for the summer!

This blush in Rose Petal, is a beautiful rosy pink color. It creates a natural flush on the cheeks and adds a subtle hint of color. This blush is perfect for every skin tone because it can easily be built up. I do love this color and I think it can even be used in the fall or spring months as well. I applied this blush with my real techniques blush brush but it can be easily applied with your fingers.
Overall, I love this cream blush. I picked it up at Ulta, where NYX products are sold. They retail for $6.99 but are often on sale.

Wet & Wild Megalast Lip Color in Just Peachy: Review & Swatches!

After hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the Wet and Wild lipsticks, I figured I would give them a try! With a a price under the $3 mark, it was something that I could not pass up! Unfortunately, my drugstore's selection was very minimal but I was able to pick up this perfect peachy, neutral called Just Peachy/ 903C.

The packaging of the Wet and Wild lipsticks is very simple. I love how you can see the color of the lipstick either through the clear covor or the swatch located on the base of the lipstick. However, I find that the packaging is rather cheap and the lipstick often smudges on the cover.

This lipstick is very true to color on the lips. It is a gorgeous, everyday peachy color. Perfect for Spring and summer! Although, if you have any dryness on your lips, it will be magnified by this matte lipstick. I found that this lipstick was clinging on to the dryness I had in the center of my lip. Luckily, moisturizing before and pairing with a gloss would solve this problem!

Overall, I really like this lipstick especially for the low price point. I will definitely look into trying other shades and some more adventurous colors! Wet and Wild is often on sale at drugstores like CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid so be sure to check them out!
